Raleigh Dailey

Raleigh has performed widely throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia. In 2002 he was selected to perform at the 3rd Annual International Martial Solal Jazz Piano Competition in Paris, France. He performs regularly with Miles Osland, with whom he completed a performing tour in Ecuador, South America. He is the pianist and staff arranger for the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, recording with that ensemble for Sea Breeze Records (Off the Charts [2001] and Quotient [2008]). His most recent international performances were with Vince DiMartino in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China.
Raleigh has performed with Bob Mintzer, Tom Harrell, Nicholas Payton, Bill Watrous, Sam Rivers, Howard Levy, Tom Scott, Greg Bissonette, Louie Bellson, David Sanchez, Byron Stripling, Dave Pietro, Jeff Coffin, John Fedchock, Allen Vizzuti, Aretha Franklin, Ed Shaughnessy, Lew Soloff, Chris Vidala, and Jim Walker. His compositions and arrangements have been performed and recorded by numerous college and university jazz ensembles, as well as by the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the United States Air Force, and the Army Blues Jazz Ensemble.
As Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Kentucky, Raleigh currently teaches courses in jazz piano and jazz improvisation, as well as directing the jazz combo program and the University of Kentucky Lab Band. His current project is the new CD by the Osland/Dailey Jazztet, Evidence (available spring 2009).
